Unfortunately it's only relevant if your insurance will pay for it.

What happens if your wife/girlfriend tests positive. Do you continue with the pregnancy knowing that she will probably miscarry, or do you tell the doctor to end the pregnancy right then.

It is a very sad situation. I think that most couples would want to know, it is the unexpected that is terrifying. Now that they have determined a test to detect this abnormality that causes miscarriages, they are working on a cure. As mentioned the cause is a decreased amount of oxygen to the developing fetus. In the future oxygen therapy might be one of the treatments.

The insurance problem is a tough one.

I don't think that the pregnancy should be terminated. There is always a chance that the baby might be carried to term. Especially with possible treatments.
