So I found a Best Buy somewhat near me that has an iphone 4s 16GB Black for AT&T.

I was told that Apple handles the process for restarting your contract and programming the new sim card when you buy it through them instead of AT&T.

Is is the exact same with Best Buy? I guess is it the same with any retail stores like that (walmart, target, etc.)

I'm VERY tempted to go drive out there later today and grab it up (its about a 40 min drive from home/work, pretty much equal distance).

Sorry if this seems like a stupid question! just don't want to waste an hour and 20 min drive for nothing!

Should be no problem, BB is an AT&T dealer just like Apple Store or Radio Shack or Wal-Mart - any of them should have no problem handling a contract upgrade.

sweet, if they still have it around 3pm when i'm about to leave work i think i'm going to book it on out there! worth the extra gas money to have randomly found one like this!!!
