I wanted to know if the old macbook (the one with the firewire port) with 2.1 khz and 4gb ddr2 ram is enough to handle pro tools with the mbox 2 pro. I only record with a max of 15-20 tracks, never any instruments and a decent amount of effects. none of my projects are record simultaenously ever.

do you think that the computer can handle that without any performance lags?

Yes, it should be fine. Just make sure your hard drive isn't full (I'd want at least 40 gb free) otherwise it may start to run into buffering issues.

I was running PT on the white macbook in my sig before I got my MBP and that was when I only had 1 gig of RAM. You should be fine with that laptop, especially with 4 gig of RAM.
