According to the iTunes/AppStore/iBook usage rules, purchases are limited to non-commercial use only...

quoting from =>http://www.apple.com/legal/itunes/us/terms.html#SALE

"USAGE RULES

(i) You shall be authorized to use Products only for personal, noncommercial use. "

So purchasing Aperture 3 from the AppStore limits it to non-commercial use, or is there other fine print I've overlooked?

Looks like you're either looking under the iTunes store (instead of the App store), or you didn't copy the whole thing.

Look under Part 3 of the Terms:

APP STORE PRODUCT USAGE RULES

(i) You may download and sync a Product for personal, noncommercial use on any device You own or control.

(ii) If You are a commercial enterprise or educational institution, You may download and sync a Product for use by either (a) a single individual on one or more devices You own or control or (b) multiple individuals, on a single shared device You own or control. For example, a single employee may use the Product on both the employee's iPhone and iPad, or multiple students may serially use the Product on a single iPad located at a resource center or library.

(iii) You shall be able to store App Store Products from up to five different Accounts at a time on compatible iOS-based devices.

(iv) You shall be able to store App Store Products on five iTunes-authorized devices at any time.

(v) You shall be able to manually sync App Store Products from at least one iTunes-authorized device to devices that have manual sync mode, provided that the App Store Product is associated with an Account on the primary iTunes-authorized device, where the primary iTunes-authorized device is the one that was first synced with the device or the one that you subsequently designate as primary using iTunes.

It seems to me the 'use' in paragraph (ii) is subject to the limitations stated in paragraph (i).

So that, a commercial entity may purchase and install the app, either on one device for multiple users, or on multiple devices for one user, but in either case, the use is only for private non-commercial purposes.

:confused:

It seems to me the 'use' in paragraph (ii) is subject to the limitations stated in paragraph (i).

What limitation? The words "You may download and sync a Product" tell you what you can do, not what you can't do. Same with paragraph (ii).

So that, a commercial entity may purchase and install the app, either on one device for multiple users, or on multiple devices for one user, but in either case, the use is only for private non-commercial purposes.

This also applies, in addition to paragraph (i).
