I've finally taken the leap and joined the forums, I've come to respect a lot of the opinions of fellow users and I think this would be a great place to ask some pending thoughts of mine.

So I've been wanting to get a Profire 2626 simply because it's compatible with M-powered Version 8 and it offers 8 preamps with endless other possibilities for connectivity. My question is simply...

"Has anyone had the pleasure of using or owning this product and are there any quarks that I should know about before purchasing?"

"Also, is there any online store that can offer me an unbeatable price for this piece of gear?"

Any thoughts would be appreciated, thanks all!

Well, I have for 6 years now.
It's got pretty good preamps and A/D/A converters
and basically as many connections a project studio would need.
I mainly use it to record drums with the Behringer ADA8000 connected via ADAT and it works like a charm.
Only complaint I've got is that the 2626 doesn't play well with others  when you daisychain firewire devices.
It's best to keep the 2626 on a separate bus.
