I'm running a Mac mini as a home HTPC. I want to leave it on 24/7 like I have my old windows laptop the past couple of years. I'm new to all thin Mac. Firstly do Macs show age after long run times? Do they get sluggish or slower, low on memory, etc?

I'd like to have a program running that continually monitors the status of the system and keeps it feeling "Fresh" by clearing out any leaks etc. Sounds possible?

My Mac mini stays on all the time. I restart it after around 4 weeks just to give it some off time, clear caches, etc…
Activity Monitor monitors your system somewhat, and you can use Intel Power Gaget to monitor your power usage.
