I use powerpoint to make measurements between distances in images for scientific research. (Being able to calculate angles and do fancier stuff is a plus too!) I also use it to superimpose unit cells, simplified models etc. It obviously wasn't designed for that and I want something that is more accurate and can get me distances easier (a straight line at an angle, for instance, will show up as a length and a width, not a length and an angle.) Is there a good program that has a nice user interface for simple stuff like this but a lot more powerful?
