First a few suggestions
1. Try to use more descriptive thread titles.
2. The OS X software forum might be a more appropriate place for this thread.
Handbrake will rip DVDs to H.264 video files. It doesn't always work right in my experience, but it's worth a try.
What are you trying to do with the ripped files? If you want to watch them on an iPod, for example, Handbrake is a good choice. But if you only want to put the video into another program to edit (like iMovie), it might be better to use a program that can save ripped video with less processor-intensive encoding (like MPEG2).
