Program question on iphone4

If the iphone 4 meter program is calcuating the input (signal) wrongly, would the program end the phone call? If there is no signal, zero put in almost any formula would be zero. Us touching the death grip stop would further dampen the signal and causing the meter program to lower and effect the phone calls.
