I am in need of a program to tell me where all my hard drive space is going. I am down to 10GB on my 2 day old MBP, I know I have a big iTunes library but that is ridicules.

Why not just open a Finder window in List view, sort by Size, and then do a Command+J and checkmark "Calculate all sizes"? Easier and doesn't require third party utilities. :)

Because then once you find a large folder, you have to go into and do it again to find which subfolder is hogging the space. Then do it again. Lather, rinse, and repeat.

The third-party tools are free and do a great job of showing exactly where your space is going.

Not really. Select all the folders, press Option+Right Arrow. :)

That's a nice tip, but my head exploded after I did that a couple of times to dig down through subfolders.

It's a fast way to do it without third-party programs, but I'll stick with the other options. To each his own. :)
