Does anyone use their Mac as a development only machine? I just got Parallels 8 for my Mac today and installed Windows 8 and Visual Studio 2012 on it. It seems to work quite nicely so far. What I'm thinking is to focus on development with the Mac, and then using my Windows machine for school work and personal use. Does anyone else do something similar to this, and has it worked well for you?

I have been using my Macbook for years now as development machine for SQL Server 2008/2012 and Visiual Studio 2008/2010/2012. Works absolutely fine.

I do however run only Windows (7 in the past, now Server 2012) as I have no need for OSX. I also have a MacMini running WS2012 and Hyper-V for my study and demo SQL servers.

As a Microsoft developer I meet quite a few other developers and consultants and it always strikes me how many actually use a Macbook as development box!

Cheers,
Erik
