I recovered a hard drive full of photos and videos. A lot of the videos do not play. Is there any program that will "fix" them or are they gone for good?

What kind of files are they? What program are you using to open them? Can you try converting them in Handbrake?

They're different formats, sOme are mov, avi, mpg, etc. I hadn't thought of trying handbrake but worth a shot I guess. They do not open in VLC though.

Try opening in QuickTime. If they won't open try converting to mp4 using Handbrake.
