Programs for the menu bar

I don't think the title really explains what I am looking for. I have seen some screenshots from people and their desktops and in the menu bar up top next to the airport bars, clock, and volume they also have weather and other things about their macs. I was just wondering what program those people are using, because I want to use it too ! thanks for the help in advance!
