Programs freeze on MBP

I recently got this MBP, works well, except for the hard drive but that's fine. Anyways, I installed iWork 09 couple days ago, with legit serial. IT DOESN'T WORK!! The programs just freezes then quit. On top of that, same thing with virtualdj, the whole computer freezes, not just the program, had to force shut down.

Worse is, Safari (4.0.2) just hangs randomly. Same thing with virtual dj, have to force shut down. Is this caused by the 7200 RPM hdd? Or, are there other solutions?
