I have the latest iBook g4 running 10.3. It's acted pretty cool until the last couple of days.
Here's the scoop--I always have several programs open. Here's the list:
Safari
Mail
iChat
Fire
iCal
iTunes
Temperature Monitor
Apple Works
this week I've been working on a web design project, so I've also had PSE, Dreamweaver, Color Designer, Simple CSS, Internet Explorer, and FontViewer open all the time.
Maybe that's too much information but I like to give the full picture. Anyway. I'll walk away for a couple hours and the computer goes into screensaver mode or sleep, depending on whether it's plugged in or battery powered. I come back, and most or all of the programs have quit. To my knowledge, they aren't crashing--no error messages appear--they just aren't running anymore. Also, just now I came back after a 3 hour absence and the CPU temperature was 146 degrees. It never goes that high when I'm using it--it tends to hover around 120 or below, or 130 if I have a CD in. So that bothers me. The screensaver isn't anything special that would make a lot of work--just your standard Flurry saver.
So um, can anyone shed some light on what might be going on?
Thanks for the help
Britt
