Programs will not install

I'm trying to install programs, I get past the agreement page and as soon as i start putting my password in the spinny disc starts spinning... its looks like its installing, writes all the files and when it looks like its installed it says failed, contact manufacturer... I thought maybe it was just that program so I tried a different one and the same thing. I really need to install this program within the next 3 hours for work so I can print and send through Canada Post or my job is on the line... any help would be sooo appreciated
