Progress bar / exit cross showing on every file I upload

Hi, I've just uploaded a stack of photos to my MacBook and noticed they all appear with a progress bar and cross in the top left-hand corner. See screenshot: https://imgur.com/a/1FadP1M

Anyone know what I can do to fix it? Have had a search with no luck, seems to be something to do with iCloud maybe but I can't find a fix there either.
