Recently I purchased a Macbook Pro 13" with duel memory (brand new but 2012). It came with Maverick, so I upgraded it to Yosemite 10.10.1.

Right off I noticed that there are no progress bars either in Mail or Safari and I can't seen to find any preferences to add them. I run on WiFi or slow ethernet connections (overseas) and I depend on the bars to tell me if I'm even connected, let alone if my stuff is going/coming through.

Have the progress bars been discontinued, or is something wacky?

Thx
