Projector Question

This isnt a mac question, but rather a home theater question. In my basement, i have a runco vx-1c projector.. I Have a computer and a dvd player and everything else hooked up to it, and i love it.. The only problem ive always had is that the computer is a 4x3 aspect ratio, and i want it to be 16:9 so it fits my screen.. This is a windows machine.. I cant find any way to set the resolution so its 16:9
