Promedia 2.1 or M-Audio AV40's?

Mostly for music. Listen to all kinds. For the same price, which would you get? Do they both come with a optical cable?

I've been looking at PM 2.1s, but I came across a pretty good alternative.

Swan M10s are available at http://www.theaudioinsider.com/product_info.php?products_id=89.. and are more 'musical' than 'boom bassy'. I wanted a set of PM 2.1's before.. but these Swans outperform them in every way possible.

I'd choose the AV40s personally, but you're never going to get a particularly fantastic sound out of anything that cheap. Look to spend around double that and you'll get something which more than quadruples it in performance.

For example, the Alesis M1s, which will make the ProMedias look like a rip-off.

I have owned both.

Games and movies > Promedia 2.1

Music > M-Audio AV 40

Promedias also have some quality issues sometimes
