For some strange reason, the following article appeared in the front page news section.

These stories are usually on the right side of the front page where it reads More MacRumors Stories.
I can understand that there is a need to run promotional stories to keep the site running.
However, putting these promotional stories in the front page news makes the site to appear less professional.

Is it a mistake or is it intentional?

This isn't purely a "promotional" post in the sense of the deals-type posts that we do that typically live over in the sidebar (although those too on occasion are posted to the front page). There is an affiliate link aspect to it, but that's not why we posted the story, and affiliate links to help support the site show up in both front page and blog posts.

Yes, this is the type of article that is more frequently seen on the blog side, so I understand why it looked a little out of place on the front page to some readers. But we thought it was a cute accessory and there wasn't a whole lot of other news going on at the time, so we decided to give it a bit more visibility.
