I've heard numerous opinions on the best strategy to prolong the overall lifespan of the rechargeable battery in notebooks. Some people say that leaving the computer in a constant state of discharging or recharging is best, i.e. never leaving the computer plugged in when fully charged. I've also heard that leaving the battery charged all the time is better.

My question: is there a "right way" to care for rechargeable batteries to get the longest lifespan?
