Been working on this for a few days, still haven't figured it out..

My original plan was to run my M2 from the internal 1TB drive and relocate my ~Home to an external SSD. Easy enough, ran it for a few days, all was great. Saw I was using over 900GB of the 1TB internal (Unity Assets, Logic libraries, Studio 1 content, DAZ3D content.. all the stuff that goes into /Users/Shared and can't be remapped) and that's just going to kill the SSD wear leveling quick.

I reinstall via Recovery Options to my external 4TB SSD and everything goes great. Transfers are super fast and I've got plenty of space now to ensure the drive survives - however I can't update anything.

Did a bunch of Googling and didn't really find anything conclusive. Any suggestions?
