protect individual keyboard keys

i was wondering if anyone knows about any type of skin that covers each single key? similar to invisible shield/etc screen shield material for the keyboard?

You could just stick square bits of sticky-back plastic over them

But seriously, I don't think manufactures would do that. Too many different key sizes, shapes etc.

I saw someone take clear tape and just cut the pieces to perfectly match the keys on the keyboard. Obviously the cheapest but most time consuming way to do it.

Honestly it would probably be the best. I mean, if you want individual keys, what's better than the clearest, thinnest material that everyone has in their home?
