My husband is contemplating getting an iPhone, but he has concerns about carrying the phone in the same pocket as his loose change. (Changing pockets is not an option. Men!) He doesn't think a screen protector and a case will be sufficient. He thinks he needs some type of flip case, something with a cover on the front, to protect it.

Can anyone speak to the issues he is concerned about and offer advice?

Keep him like all other husbands, broke no money end of problem. :D
He will need to cover the whole phone. Why not carry it in a case on the belt.

Talk about geeky and advertising to every miscreant you have an iPhone.

1. I use an Incipio Feather on my iPhone5.
2. I carry it in the same pocket I carry a single coin (silver dollar sized) and any change I receive during the day. I start the day with the aforementioned single coin. I leave my change at home.
3. No screen protector.
4. No problems.

otterbox would probably fit the bill.

I can't remember the last time I actually carried change, but to each their own

Always try to keep my iPhone in one pocket and change, wallet, etc. in the other. :)

I imagine there are tons of screen protectors out there that are tough as nails that no coins will scratch through and damage the screen.

So any cheap thin snap-in case + screen protector is more than enough. I have an Element Case Sector5 w/ screen protector and ultrasuede back plate...it's in my pocket full of change and keys all time and I have no issues of the iPhone getting scratched, nor my case.
