Protected partition

I have an external HDD with one partition protected by a password using bitlocker.
This is easily accessible from a Windows machine, but not from macOS without 3rd party apps.

Is there a way (different than bitlocker ofc) to keep that partition protected with a password and being able to open it from both Windows and macOS without 3rd party apps?
