iPod touch Protecting iTouch?

Hello All,
I just recently purchased and iTouch for my niece and want to make it to were her mother cannot erase the music I put on it and sync it with her own. Is there a way to do this or am I just **** out of luck?

If I understand the question correctly, you could make the iPod Touch set to 'manually manage music' to avoid it requiring to be wiped when connected to another iTunes library.

However, I think it would be preferable to give her an empty, fresh iPod Touch and then provide the music you wish to give her separately in some manner (maybe you could burn the files to a DVD for her to import into her computer or bring them on a portable hard drive if you have one).
