Not sure if is the right place to post but seemed the most suited to my query.

I've recently had to claim on my household insurance to replace a 15" macbook pro that I accidentally spilt water on - I had bought the protection plan when I bought the mac.

Has my new mac got the protection plan too? Or am I going to have to fork out for new coverage?

I've heard the plans are linked by serial numbers so was wondering if I could transfer the plan to this new mac?

Thanks

Apple - Support - AppleCare - FAQ

Generally speaking, you can get a refund of unused coverage on the old Mac, then buy AppleCare on the new one.

How to transfer coverage of an AppleCare agreement

Apple - Support - AppleCare Agreement

Read the AppleCare Terms and Conditions for details.
