My wife's late 2013 15" screen protective coating is starting to peel off. I tried to capture it but it didn't come out too good. You can see the white spots on the left edge of the screen.
We bought it in January 2014 and Applecare is good till January 2017. Do you think I should take it in now and hope they replace the screen or do I wait some more to get worse? Do you think I have a case now?

Think you're good to go as long as you can be without the machine while it gets fixed -- I have one in the middle of my display, but have put it off as its only noticeable when the machines off.

Take it in to Apple so they can look at it. If it is indeed like those with peeling coatings, Apple should give you no problems with replacing the screen. You do need to let them see it first...

I think you should be asking Apple, which will carry out the repair if it deems fit, not strangers on the internet, who have no bearing on Apple's decision.
