Proximity sensor

Hi guys,
it might be a silly question but I am wondering if it is normal that I can see the proximity sensor in the dark. So far I never really observed this but yesterday I made a call at night and saw a kind of red dot.

There's an infrared LED in there, so it's possible that you can spot it. Like you can see the LED of some remote control units in the dark more or less. As long as it functions, don't worry about it.
