Looking to bypass a squid filter at work ;) Youtube is blocked and I want to get around it. The network admin said I can do it if I can figure it out on my own haha. I want to setup a proxy at my house that I run my traffic through. Whats the easiest way to accomplish this? I tried tunneling through ssh, with a socks proxy, but it still gets filtered :(

Thanks.

You can't have got it right then. Nothing can inspect the contents of an SSH tunnel without doing a MITM attack, which would show up with a certificate error warning. Recheck all of your settings, and watch the logfile on your proxy back at home for traffic arriving. Personally I'd put up a squid at home rather than a SOCKS proxy, and connect to that via the HTTP tunnel.
