foregoing the obvious comments on 'load up on ram' and so on for a new Mac Pro I'm planning on getting; is the 2600xt sufficient for photoshop cs4 use? I read around and hear its been geared more towards using gpu processing power and if so would the 8800 card be a 'better' one to get or would the standard 2600xt do fine?

The 2600xt will be just fine, though I'd imagine (tbh) that PS4 will really appreciate the 8800 if you're doing anything in amazingly high res. I can't seem to find any benchmarks with the 2600xt, it may be too soon.

cheers. files wont be crazy hi-res, nothing above 20mpix from digital cameras, and I've not been able to find bench marks for either card... :)
