Just wondering if anyone has thoughts on this.
My power supply starts to make a really loud noise at high frequencies (or buzzing) when I am playing a couple games (elite dangerous & homeworld remastered on OSX,world of tanks on boot camp). I have played around with the graphic settings but it comes and goes, but it is very frequent now. I thought it might be the fan but using smcFancontrol and manually boosting the fan doesn't seem to make this happen.
Unit Specs are:
2.93 Ghz QC Xeon
16 GB RAM (OWC)
Samsung 512GB EVO SSD
1TB WD Raptor
500 GB WD Raptor
250 GB Kingston Hyper X 3k SSD
EVGA GTX 680 GPU
I did have the GPU fail on me ,which also made my previous 4.1 Mac Pro just die as well, my thoughts are something is maybe triggering this in the PS from the video card. iStats Menu shows the power supply going over 12v some times but I don't know if this is normal or what tempature would indicate an issue internally.
