Is there any way I can hook up a PS2 controller to my computer? Is there like a USB converter cable or something I could use. I read this guy's thread, https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/431881/, but I was wondering if there is an alternative for a guy like me who spent all of his money on the new computer and would like to just play off what he's got. Please get back to me.

Yes, there is multiple adapters you can find on eBay, and online.

I know Radioshack used to sell an adapter too. It isnt listed on their site, but you can probably find it in a store.

Another alternative is an Xbox 360 wired or wireless controller, as those work on PCs as well. For wireless, you'll need to get the kit that includes the controller and the reciever.

Best Buy and Gamestop carry this.

i have a ps2 contoller and converter, but my imac wont recognize it.
does anyone know where i could find the driver for it

Just get a cheap converter off eBay and it should work fine. I got one to use with a dance pad but it's also fully compatible with the DualShock2. Great way to not have to buy a separate gamepad for my Mac. Just make sure you don't get a "PS/2 to USB" converter. ;)

Try Game...

I got a cheap second hand 360 controller from them
& googled for a Mac driver.
Works great for BSNES & NesTopia.

Re: PS2 controller on computer

hey i just ordered a ps2 to usb adapter (not ps/2) on ebay will i be able to map the dual control sticks?

I use a PS2 controller on my iMac - works fine through a cheap adaptor that I got online somewhere.

i was wondering how did you do it because i have 3 ps2 controllers and none of them happens to work when i plug them in... did you use another application? i heard that in apple store there is a payed app called GAMEPAD that its suppose to setup your controller.
