i was filled with optimism when i looked up how easy it was to connect a ps3 controller with bluetooth to my macbook pro 5.1!
and then i was haunted with the horrible memories of spending hours trying to get it to connect to my pc. it was happening all over again.
method 1: connect to mbp via cable. turn on bluetooth. turn on controller. controller blinks forever. nothing on mbp at all.
method 2: connect to mbp via cable. turn on bluetooth, turn on controller, unplug cable. controller blinks until it turns itself off. nothing on mbp at all.
anyone else have this nightmare and overcome it? google is not helping at all
os x 10.10. lights are blinking very fast usually, though on some attempts they are blinking slowly.
edit: xbox360 controller was as easy as installing a thing and plugging it in. would still like help with the ps3 though!
edit: ALSO! i think my keyboard backlight is dead - is that possible? have reset the pram, smc, turned auto adjust off, covered the sensor, taken the connector out of the socket on the logic board and reinserted it (late 2008 unibody), installing that lab tick thing, nothing has helped. f5 - f6 show the on screen brightness settings, just no light at all.
no google results have any info on backlights actually dying - only fixable issues - but i imagine it can just die. though i was unable to find any replacements? are they actually built into the keyboard?
