Looks like Steve Jobs was right when he said that Blu-Ray was a 'Bag of Hurt'

European customs officers have been told to seize all shipments of PlayStation 3s (PS3), following a patent row between Sony and LG.

LG has won a ten-day import ban on the games consoles from the civil court of justice in the Hague.

The long-running dispute between the two tech firms centres around the playback facility for Blu-Ray discs.

Custom officials in Holland have already seized tens of thousands of PS3s, according to reports.

Experts say that the ban, if extended, could affect the stock available in shops within three weeks.

Innnnnteresting.

Of course, The Jobs would rather we just skip the physical media part altogether. That would be fine by me, as I like my :apple:tv.

:apple:tv, however, could use a bit of tweaking in its NetFlix code/service, as it's sometimes painful to use (long initial buffer times, dropouts every few minutes). It's not necessarily NetFlix's fault, either, as the NetFlix client built into my TV streams NetFlix consistently, albeit with an inferior UI. YouTube on :apple:tv is also frustratingly slow at times.

Different clients use different back end servers at NetFlix, so it may still well be entirely NetFlix's issue.
