At the same price, which would you purchase, if you were willing to spend the money?

??? The phone is $600 upfront and then $40/50 per month for 2 years

Total cost $1500-1600 Not too different.

Well considering I'm already paying $60/mo for my cell, its $2320 for the PS3 (plus tv plus 1 yr of current cell phone service) or $1600 for the iPhone.

I'm still sticking with the iPhone.

Plus, as an aside, I dont understand why people are always complaining about the cost of service. Don't people pay for cell phones now anyway? (Granted, not everyone is paying $60/mo like me, but still!)

Well you are not getting anywhere with a PS3 without a game, there are usually around a good game a month and on some years (like 2004) you can have around 20 games to play in the xmas holiday season, and 2007 seems like the next 2004, so... PS3 is is more expensive.

I'd get a PS3 because I'm fine with a regular phone.

Please, people... are there no better thread topics left?

Still, by request, I'm unlocking this. First sign of trouble, though, and its off to the Wasteland.

this is like asking if you should get
a turkey sandwich today for lunch

or a new pair of flip flops that wont get
released for six months...

WTF!!?!??!

get a ps3 if you want one now and save
some money for the iphone when it comes
out... jeez...

Hmm. PS3 or a major Apple product, in a Apple fansite. I wonder who will win this one.

iPhone because I'm never around my horrible 20"-with-one-speaker-and-one-single-input-and-no-audio-out television long enough to play any video games. PS3 is overkill for what I have now. And I could really use an iPhone.

i would say neither as well

499 for a phone including contract is simply too much

my sister got herself a sony erricson 750i for 1 euro, pays 5 euro a month, with 5 cent per minute to all providers and 1000 free text messages per month (she types perhaps 700-800 per month)
