PS3 streaming app from new iMac?

I have tried Plex and its just awful, the app opens in a webpage. I will go and add a section and then its blank nothing is there. It also is not even showing up in my ps3 mediaserver. I also tried the app PS3 Media Server and it doesnt even pick up either. Both apps have been allowed access via firewall.

Can somebody recommend a reliable app? Would an Apple TV let me transfer files to my PS3? I am coming over from windows and have always used TVersity with no problems now on the Mac its been nothing but hell for me.

I personally use PS3 Media Server without issues on default settings.

Sometimes I need to hit the Restart Server button to get it to show up on my PS3. That's about it.
