has anyone got any experience of this or whether it would be worth it,

i've got a 2nd monitor with DVI and was wondering if anyone else has done this, if it would work, how would i go about making the sound work, or would a hdmi to dvi lead deal with the sound too?

the monitors a NEC 1980sx 19" tft

any replies would be appreciated

it worked for me back when I used to do it. MRU is right that is has to be HDCP approved (honestly, I don't know how people get monitors that aren't... mine is over 4 years old and has it)

haha i didnt know anything about HDCP or hi definition before getting my ps3,
i just thought that hdmi and dvi are basically the same things which they are asides from one being older and not dealing with sound, but i cant find any specs on the NEC monitor, or if it does support HDCP,im not even sure how old it is, i bought it 2nd hand on ebay so :S
