PS3 Toslink to Mac LineIn to FireWave

Hi, everyone

I was just wondering if I'm getting true 5.1 surround sound audio with the following setup. The audio settings have been changed in the PS3.

PS3 > Toslink Cable > Mac Mini Line In > LineIn (Software) > FireWave > 5.1 Speakers (Logitech X-530)

Am I getting 5.1 surround sound audio, or just 2-channel audio?

Probably. Check your Audio MIDI Setup (/Applications/Utilities) just to be sure the Mac is passing the 5.1 to the Firewave instead of downmixing it. Perhaps there is a test movie or sound file you can access on the PS3 to make sure all the speakers are getting independent streams?
