PSA: Lawn Mowing and Grass Clippings

Public Service Announcement:

Ok, I am tired of driving down the road, and seeing people mowing their lawns and blowing the grass clippings (and other debris) into the road, and then not removing them. Its even more annoying when its deep grass being cut so that there are tons of grass clippings in the road.

Just a pet peeve of mine. Its rude, inconsiderate, unsightly, and I suppose it could be dangerous for cyclists. I know a guy that ran over a small stick on his road bike and ended up breaking a leg and an arm falling. All sorts of crap comes out of lawn mowers- grass, leaves, twigs, sticks, rocks, etc.

I do that all the time, I actually dumped some of my clippings in my neighbor's yard and he yelled at me, luckily I had my iPod headphones in and just cranked up the volume.

Although I do blow a few clippings out of the driveway into the road.
