PSA: If you are running a Logitech g403 gaming mouse and Logitech Gaming software 8.96.38 on High Sierra and update your mouse firmware to 3.4.12, your mouse will be a brick.

It will cause your devices using Logitech gaming software to hang. I tried the mouse on multiple Macs and it caused every setup to hang when using the Logitech gaming software and all other devices using it.

I resolved this on my Windows box:

Downloading an older release from
ftp://ftp.logitech.com/pub/techsupport/gaming/G403Update_3.3.11.exe

I ran G403Update_3.3.11.exe /force

That caused a downgrade.

Works fine now.

I did not try /force on my Mac because I had the issues above, but I suspect it will work.
