It is subtle but no question on my two phones the 15 pro max AR coating is doing a better job. The 16 PM has a clear untinted reflection while the 15PM reflections are slightly darker in tint and more subdued.

If you care :) I am a watch guy and these things make a difference so I always notice it. It is not a deal breaker but it is there.

Huh? No iPhone has ever had an anti-reflective coating. Apple's iPads and laptops do. If you want a good example of what it looks like on a phone, check out Samsung's Galaxy S24 Ultra. Makes a massive difference. It's rumored they had an exclusive on that coating this year, so hopefully Apple can offer something similar for the 17s.

Well it must be the panel itself, it’s more reflective. No question. iPhone 15 pm reflections are much warmer tone which makes them less noticeable.
I work out every morning and this morning with 16pm was the first time I realized in elevator I should brush my hair before going to the gym. :)

I don’t see any difference between the 15 Pro Max and 16 Pro Max with screens off, in terms of reflections.
