Hey guys! I just had a MagSafe 1 power supply's cable die on me and while I own the really nice MS1 to MS2 converter, I wanted to fix the power supply because the cable was the only part that didn't work.

I decided to officially 'make a leap' as it were, and order a MagSafe 2 cable to replace the non-functioning MagSafe 1 cable with. Hopefully.

After getting the brick open (holy jumpin'! What an adventure that is) and disconnecting the original cable (with scissors) I let the brick sit for a few days. I then received my MagSafe 2 cable in the mail, and got to soldering it back together to the original parts.

I'm not the best at soldering, but I got the job done and insulated the parts correctly and safely. Put it back together and elastic-ed the brick together just because it doesn't *quite* perfectly fit together anymore. (This is a small concession)

I also painted it, because why not...

You can see a *tiny* gap where it doesn't totally fit together.

Plugged it in hoping it wouldn't explode... and it works!
