This is something I am wondering, since the region where I live (Germany) severely limits the PSN's content and a lot of the more adult-targeting games are censored or excluded altogether.

Can one have multiple PSN accounts on the Go, like on the PS3? Can I access games/contents from other countries' stores? Or would I be limited to the German PSN store? Cause that would DEFINITELY be a "No Go!" (har har) for me!

Could you use a proxy, purchase and download a game from a foreign store on a PC and then copy it to the Go?

It it really is region locked then boooo.

Should be able to make say an English account for just the PSP Go, log in and get to the English PSN Store, but you cant have more than one account.

I'm guessing you can make a bunch of free e-mail accounts for them like you can with the iTunes Store? Should be able to if it's a normal account registration system.

You dont even need a working Email, although it helps so you can check receipts etc.

You can have many accounts like I do (I have 5 accounts, Japanese US etc.), but your PSP can only be activated for one account at a time. Meaning if you get a US account for example, and download games with that account, you can only play games downloaded with that account unless you activate it again for your German account, in which case you can only play games downloaded with your German account... It's a big hassle but it's possible.

I can only assume that CFW will fix this over time with some sort of plug in? Is Dark_AleX still around?

It's been a long time away from the PSP scene for me!

The PSP has been region locked since day 1.

No it wasn't. Where did you get this from? I'm able to run Europe, US and Japanese UMDs on my European PSP-2000 with no problems whatsoever.

It has? Did not know that, as I never owned one. I always thought all handheld systems were region free, ever since the Gameboy.

Only the DSi-only games and all PSP Go games are region locked. PSP1000-3000 are region free.

I didn't know the DSI-only games were region locked. I was planning to get one for Christmas. Some Japanese games never make it to Europe or US.:(

Sounds like a hassle. I could live with downloading games from the different stores via my PS3 and then copying them onto the Go. But having only one store's content on the Go at the time really sucks.

I really want to like the Go, but Sony is making it VERY hard for me...

All UMD games are region free, PSN based downloads are region based to a certain degree in that you must have a local cc and address (or a point card from that country). Just a FYI Sorny might be making it a bit tougher for folks to get to other countries PSN stores by using the IP to determine location. I know.. run through a proxy.. but the average user isn't going to go to such exteremes. They are already doing ip based location checks for some of the PSN video stores.

This sure is a strangle little part of the internet.

Why are you even taking a sentence that ends with "bro" seriously?

Ask yourselves that.

Because discourse without context is prone to misinterpretation ... and the sort of person who'd get all bent about that prior post being 'rude' is the same sort that would use 'bro' in their reply ...

Better to use an emoticon ;)

PSP Go device in US box appear as Region 1. Usable with PSN European account?

I have been in the US when the new PSP Go has been released and have bought one for my nephews. The people at the Game shop were uncertain of Region-lock status since the box of the device shows Region 1 stamped (like in DVDs). Nonetheless I bought it reasoning that the regionalization would be on the side of the accounts and games downloaded from these accounts more then in the device itself (even DVD terminal region predetermined -like in computers too- can be re-regionalized, at least up to a certain number of times, usually five- to a new region).

Could anyone verify this assumption before I do give the device as a present?

Thanks!!
