I am a computer engineer student and a PowerBook G4 owner, but I need to use Max+Plus II and Pspice.

Previous threads show that there are no suitable mac alternatives, so I need a solution. We use sun/unix systems at school, so shouldnt those programs run on linux? I could reformat my linux desktop to winXP  and login to it with remote desktop, or install winxp on my PB with vpc.

What would you guys recommend?

According to this page, Max+Plus II doesn't support Linux. It took a bit of searching to find Pspice information, but I eventually found a PDF that implies no Linux support. I suppose you could use VNC, since it supports most common platforms. If there's a binary for your platform already, use that - otherwise, you'll need to compile the server for your UNIX machines. There's several Mac OS X VNC clients out there - I use VNCViewer.
