I did a few searches and didn't seem to notice this problem. Anyway, on most wireless networks I have no problem at all. However, on public type networks where they usually force you through a disclaimer page before you can actually browse the web, I have found that it works for a while, say 5-10 minutes and then just doesn't work. If you open a command line to do a ping you don't get any response. It's almost like you lose DNS. Airport still has an IP address and turning wireless on and off and reconnecting doesn't seem to help. In some cases, rebooting did help. I've tried this both with OpenDNS as the DNS servers and with clearing the DNS cache and removing the OpenDNS servers.
Has anyone seen anything like this where it's like the network just goes away and nothing can be reached anymore? I tried glancing at the system logs last time it happened at the airport but I didn't see anything obvious. It can be extremely annoying though when you are in the middle of something...
