iPod touch Public Wi-Fi hot spots in Australia

ok, so all us aussies know that we are not as spoiled with piblic free wifi as yanks are... (no offence!)

so perhaps we can have a thread on where you found a free wifi spot?

Another thing, sometimes i check wifi connections and some show 'open', but when i try to connect it says 'server not found'. Why?

unfortunately I havent found ANY free spots in Sydney yet.. granted i've only taken my Touch to work and back - still waiting on BSE to arrive.

all mcdonalds use to have free wifi in aus now they make you pay for it : /
every charcoal chicken has free wifi to.

I have found a few in Melbourne but they are just People's Wi-Fi networks with no passwords.7

I'm pretty sure that every McDonalds is a wifi hotspot. You can use it provided you can stomach that ****** food, of course.

Hahah, that's like a minute away from me..how cool. Now that you've publicised it, some poor unassuming 50 something year old will rack up a massive internet bill. Shame they don't know about secure networks. Unless of course this is intentionally a free wifi network.
