I bought a Macbook Pro and sold my old macbook. My new macbook pro has a 160 GB hdd and the old one a 320GB HDD. My time machine has all the files backed up on it which is a good thing. My issue is, I have a iMovie in the backup on the time machine that I would like access to.

I plan to upgrade to a 500gb or 750gb soon.. But I haven't yet. Is there anyway to get the files out of the backup on TIme Machine without restoring all of the files to my Macbook Pro?
thanks

Option + click Time Machine icon, choose "Browse Other Time Machine Disks." This allows you to select files from your old system to restore manually.

how do you access another disk that is not connected because it died.

i have tm back up 3 other disks, only way i see them is to have them turned on.

I just use the finder to browse my time machine disk and manually copy the file(s) I want or need.
