The other night my G5's fans started pulsating--they began to spin up for a few seconds, then die down, and then spin up again. They aren't running at full blast, but it still increases the noise level quite a bit. The only way to stop it from doing this is to go into System Preferences-->Energy Saver--> and reduce the performance down from "highest" or "automatic" to "reduced." By switching to "reduced" it gets rid of the problem, but then there's a bit of a lag when I want to do anything processor intensive.

Can someone help me?
